Today I got inspired by FZD schools youtube videos and I took 3 photos and randomly put them on to each other and changed the layer types. Then I just started to paint into this mix just something I felt and it resulted as a jungle ruin.

Cgtalk daily sketch today was "Pretty Women".. So I tried to just paint some beatiful girl / women. I searched some images from google and used them as reference. As result, it was funny it looked little bit like Angelina Jolie, maybe because I painted the lips so big..

I still hate painting / sketching eyes... plaah ruins always everything.. I need really to practice more eyes. :P

Using ubuntu studio and I installed new software called Krita. Seems really cool application. Its always bit hard to learn new softwares.. and I just got used to photoshop brushes.

Victory of Ravens

Todays dailysketch topic.

 Just reminded me about when I was in military, middle of forest, guarding my post around 5 am.  Then I see Raven trying to approach our tent where the food was. I was thinking that this huge bird will only trying to steal something small and fly away. But suddenly the bird took the whole pack of those crispbread. The bag had crispbread for a whole team, so it had more than one hundred crispbreads inside. The bag was way bigger than the bird.  Those crispbreads were dropping out of the pack while he was flying away! I was laughing so much while this Raven was carrying one month food for himself! Definatly Raven`s victory.

Characters part 2: Basic figure

Im now reading Andrew Loomis figure drawing book.. trying to mimic and copy and learn making characters from this great book..

After few minutes sketching I felt that I couldn`t present the idea well enought so I didnt want to continue too much on this work. Around 15minutes time spend.

The Cleaning day

Today I spend sometime more with painting. I never really done anything that takes more than 2hours. This one was around 3hours. I should do more finished paintings.. but still I think I lack too much in basic things.

This one was caricature about heavy metal guys. I had this series in my mind to make caricatures about all musical sub-cultures. Well, lets see.. This is going to be my Character number 8.

I drew today at least 10 pages of character doodles. Just the basic shapes. I still have huge problem with those... Those shapes are bit harder to make digitally. Doesnt ever look as good as in real life sketch book
I was too lazy to take photograph from those sketch book stuff.. maybe later. But here is the digital one... Really awful still. But more I do, more I improve...

Character sketching month!

Part 1: the starting

I still have so many problems with drawing / painting characters. Thinking about my goals in painting... Characters are really important part of telling stories. So, now I dedicated to improve in characters. So this month goal is mainly to concentrate on characters.

My goal is atleast 100 characters painted this month. So it means around "3.5" characters per day. I am going to go trough first the fundamentals and really basic. Anatomy will come maybe in future, but now I will more about shapes.

So I was thinking to do my self little timeline.... and areas what I will try to improve.

Here are my first seven characters... which shows that I pretty much suck, haha!  lets see how will I improve in one month.
